Superior Farms Pet Provisions Revamps Fundraising Program

Company Looks To Boost Awareness And Support Rescues And Shelters

Dixon (CA) – In an effort to support pet shelters and rescues, Superior Farms Pet Provisions has announced it will give 10% of all internet sales back to the participants in its formerly-named “Doggie Donation” program during the month of August. Shoppers can specifically choose where the donations go to by using a unique code for one of the participating shelters.

“This is something that our company truly stands behind,” said President Gary Pfeiffer. “Most of our employee dogs are rescues, and we know how difficult it can be for these organizations to get the support they need. This is close to our hearts.”

The program is being re-named “Farm Fundraising” to make it more clear that rescues and shelters signing up have an opportunity to raise funds for their organization. They are exploring ways to redesign their website to make it easier to choose the unique donation codes at the point of check out.

“We say our treats are ‘From Our Farms To Your Pet,” said Pfeiffer. “With this program, it’s more like ‘From Our Farms To Your Rescue.” The company is also doing some outreach to make sure that participating organizations have samples of product in rescue adoption packets.  “We want their supporters know that we provide an easy opportunity to continue to support the cause while keeping their new adoptee happy with delicious treats,” said Pfeiffer.

SFPP offers all natural lamb, beef and venison treats and chews that are produced safely in the US and New Zealand. Bulk items are also available to purchase through the website.

Each of the current participating organizations will benefit equally from any of the purchases throughout the month online.  Funds for specific shelters will be allocated if shoppers use a unique code at checkout. Those codes can be found here: http://www.superiorfarmspet.com/buy/support-the-animals.asp

Dakota Treats Brand Relaunches “Baa Baa Q’s” Product Line

Close Ties To The Sheep Industry Guided Decision To Re-launch Popular Trademark

When Superior Farms Pet Provisions, a company ingrained in the lamb industry, learned that the product name “Baa Baa Qs” was up for grabs, the young company decided to acquire it. Now they are launching 5 new items under their Dakota Treats brand at Super Zoo this month and hoping that this new product line will excite and delight customers across all channels.

“Baa Baa Qs” was a name that had not been used in the trade for approximately 8 years. The company’s Dakota Treats brand is re-launching the name for lamb lung filets. The other products will be “Baa Baa Bites” (lamb lung nuggets) and “Baa Baa Chews” (premium lamb ears). Two sizes of beef bully sticks from Dakota Treats are new as well.

“Being related to the largest lamb processor in the United States, (Superior Farms lamb) we’re really excited to re-launch a fun line that’s focused on promoting the lamb industry and novel proteins,” said Gary Pfeiffer, President of Superior Farms Pet Provisions and Dakota Treats. “These are our most popular and widely available products, and we think that with this new, catchy name we will capture more consumer attention for our natural, healthy, limited-ingredient pet treats. These are great training treats that dogs love.”

In conjunction with this new line, Dakota Treats has gotten a graphic face lift with their packaging, with brighter colors and bolder product attributes. They are using more differentiated colors to call out the different proteins. A sneak-peak for the package will be at Super Zoo at booth 8106.  The products will be ready to ship in September.

Superior Farms Pet Provisions Works To Help Shelters And Non-Profits

“Doggie Donation” program offers percentage of company online sales back to participants

Superior Farms Pet Provisions (SFPP) employees are proud that all of their dogs have been rescued and/or adopted through local shelters. Passionate about giving back to this cause, the company has announced its Doggie Donation program is up and running. Shelters and Rescue Organizations from across the nation can sign up for the program and will be given a unique code. Any online SFPP shopper using that code will automatically have 10% of their purchase donated back to the shelter.

“Our company is made up of dog lovers,” said CEO Gary Pfeiffer, who is the proud pet parent of Roger, a cattle dog, and Ellie, a Border Staffy mix. “Every one of us has rescue dogs that are part of our families and that’s part of the reason we got into this business. We love our pups, we believe in the rescue efforts and we want to give something back to the community and to the organizations that do so much.”

To participate, a rescue organization only needs to e-mail about@superiorfarmspet.com. From there, a staff member will set the organization up with a unique code to be used at online checkout. Superior Farms Pet Provisions also sends out a display and handouts with their code and provides social media and direct marketing support.

“We wanted to make this simple and easy for the different organizations to raise funds. They merely need to direct supporters to our website,” said Pfeiffer. “Time and money are in short supply for these hard working groups– we wanted to make it as simple and straight forward as possible.”

SFPP will be exhibiting this week at SuperZoo in Las Vegas at booth 8105. In addition to announcing the Doggie Donation program, they will debut some new Made-in-the-USA beef products as well as some exciting new items from their New Zealand partners.

More information on the program is available at http://www.superiorfarmspet.com/about/doggie-donation-program.asp

Superior Farms Pet Provisions expands product line

“Itty Bits” made from natural lamb and venison lung specifically for small dogs

Aiming to serve customers with smaller dog breeds, Superior Farms Pet Provisions have announced the addition of Lamb and Venison “Itty Bits” treats to its product line.  The new products are going to be highlighted in the New Product Showcase at the SuperZoo, a national trade show for pet retailers in Las Vegas this week.

“It’s uniquely shaped for small dogs under 15 pounds,” said Vice President Eric Tiller.  “We are taking our high quality lamb and venison lung product and made it bite-sized – small enough for petite breed to enjoy.”

The treats are a novel protein for small dogs or a training snack for larger dogs.  Tiller said they are high in protein and low in saturated fat. They also use no fillers. “This is a single-source protein, so you don’t have to worry about it containing added ingredients that could cause an allergic reaction to your dog,” he said.

The Lamb Itty Bits and Venison Itty Bits are packaged in 3 oz bags for retail. Tiller said they help complete the product lines of natural lamb and venison that Superior Farms Pet Provisions offers.  All their products are source verified from New Zealand and the US, and are processed in the U.S.  Their products contain no grains, gluten, preservatives or artificial flavors.

Featured on the packages of the Superior Farms Pet Provisions products are actual dogs of the company employees. The lamb package features Hailey and the Venison package features Zack – both small breeds that reflect the type of animal the product is for.

Superior Farms Pet Provisions will be at the SuperZoo Trade Show at Booth #713 featuring its full line of treats, chews and frozen items.

Superior Farms Pet Provisions welcomes new VP of Sales

Eric Tiller brings varied background in the pet industry to his new role

When he was a youth at his parent’s farm and feed store, Eric Tiller didn’t realize that learning the pet industry from the ground up would turn into his career. Now, after working on the retail side and the distributor side, he is ready to take the Superior Farms Pet Provisions brand to the next level as the Vice President of Sales for the new company.

“Being able to work for a company that is in control of the sourcing – that is very important in the pet industry,” said Tiller. “What enticed me most is that I saw a start up that was getting into the pet segment that had all the resources – really knowing the farms that the products were coming from. It’s enticing to take some knowledge of the pet industry and apply it to grow this into a successful brand. ”

Tiller worked for Central Garden and Pet from 2000 in various locations around the country, including the Sacramento location starting in 2010.

“He is a great fit,” said Gary Pfeiffer, SFPP President. “We are a fast growing company with an excellent product.  Eric brings to us a lifetime of pet industry experience that will help us grow our brand nationally and make our products available to discerning pet owners everywhere.”  SFPP processes natural lamb and venison pet treats safely in their facilities in the USA and New Zealand.

“The pet industry comes naturally,” said Tiller. “With my past experience in the industry I can relate to the current retailers and be able to bring them safe and natural products.”

Tiller can also relate to the product because he and his wife and two children also have a Yorkie named Clementine in the family.
